STEPHEN BUNTING IDOL

The PDC World Darts Championship is one of the big events that is closing the year and will open the sporting season. Last year it was widely followed by the feat of Luke Littler and this time it is not being less. It is gaining many followers and having a great impact also outside the Anglo-Saxon world. One of the characters that is leaving this edition is Stephen Bunting (Liverpool, 1985). The world number 8 has become the tournament's mass idol in his own right.

It has already become famous and totally viral his entrance to the pavilion with the song 'Titanium' (by David Guetta and Sia) and has gotten all the fans in his pocket. Bunting himself admitted after his round of 16 match that he had been emotional during his entrance before the clash against Latvian Razma: “When you hear the crowd... I cried during the entrance. And then they kept singing when the music ended. Maybe I should have controlled myself a little bit, but it's special to play here and even more so with thousands of people shouting your name.” The Saint Helens-based scouser beat Madars Razma 4-1 and will face Luke Woodhouse in the round of 16. His tournament high is the quarterfinals, reached in 2023, and this year he wants to aim higher.
